Helmet Boi. But Is He Really Knievel?
acrylic on canvas / 2016
100 cm x 70 cm
a bald-headed figure is wearing a helmet, tight straps and minzboots. he is called Helmet Boi. those surrounding him are whispering: „is he really knievel?“ because Helmet Boi seems to have endless strength and succeeds at any given physical task, such as flying, jumping very high and running very fast. Helmet Boi is a new-generation-Knievel, but probably not the man himself.
inspirational to the figure was director John Waters with his bordering-on-the-perverse take on art.
the painting is also a tribute to austrian artist August Walla, whose „snakes with teeth“ are crawling.
